Credentials
Karen McMahan, president of Do-It-Write,
holds a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Spanish from the
College of Charleston. Ms. McMahan attended graduate
school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill, where she completed course requirements for a
master’s degree in Spanish. She is an authorized
DISC administrator and a member of the Career Management
Alliance and the Triangle Society for Human Resource
Management.
In October 2005, Karen earned her credential
as a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA)
from Target Training International. Through DISC behavioral
profiling, she works with individuals and corporate
personnel on improving their communication, interpersonal,
and leadership skills. She also helps companies in team
building, performance management, recruitment and retention,
customer service, and sales development. In May 2001,
she earned her International Job and Career Transition
Coach credential (IJCTC) in Washington, DC.
Ms. McMahan is a career content contributor
to other recruiting websites. She has been featured
on the NBC-17 On the Hunt series, providing
interviewing tips for job seekers. Her clients’
résumés have been nationally recognized
in two different books on résumés: America’s
Top Résumés for America’s Top Jobs
and Expert Résumés for Manufacturing
Careers. Additionally, Ms. McMahan is a frequent
workshop presenter on career-related topics. She is
a member of the Research Triangle Park Rotary and past
Assistant District Governor of Rotary District 7710
Area 7.
